Lymphatics for Surgical Support

Support your clients with comfort and Wisdom though Their process

It’s time to think clinically, not just follow a protocol.

Earn your NCBTMB approved 16 hour CE and advance your manual lymphatic drainage process with pre and post op protocol and treatment.

This highly sought after client support is an absolute game changer for therapists looking to expand or focus their professional scope.

Giving you all the skills you need, this class will get you thinking about the best ways to support your clients through surgical procedures and advance your lymphatic treatments.

More and more people are taking the route of elective surgery to enhance their features, become more comfortable in their bodies, and make surgical changes for health reasons.

But did you know: manual lymphatic drainage can SIGNIFICANTLY assist with both pre op jitters as well as post op recovery?

Lymphatic Drainage:

Prepares the body for surgery: This lulling technique signals to the lymphatic system to speed things up a bit, putting the physical body into a perfect position to receive surgical adjustments.

Manages pain: The analgesic effect is almost immediate and brings calming spot surgical relief to the client, allowing them to focus on the recovery process.

Reduces the occurrence of post op complications: By creating health in the tissues we speed the recovery process and can lessen the occurrence of fibrosis, chronic swelling, stubborn scar tissue, and unwanted bruising.

Meet Your (geeky) Teacher

Meet Kristin Sloan, the go-to professional for manual lymphatic drainage education and bodywork with over two decades of experience. Renowned for her unparalleled knowledge and compassionate approach, Kristin brings a refreshing blend of expertise and fun to the world of lymph. With a commitment to empowering individuals through education and hands-on bodywork, Kristin is dedicated to helping others lead healthier, more fulfilling lives. Whether providing personalized treatments or leading engaging workshops, Kristin embodies a passion for wellness that is both inspiring and effective.

Beginning her lymph education in 2012 with the Vodder School, Kristin has had the honor to learn from the top of the industry including Anne Bramhan of ASTECC, Ashley Jo Press, and none other then Professor Hildegard Whittlinger who worked with Dr Vodder himself. There is a big emphasis of not only understanding the effect we have on a cellular level, but how you can advance your practice by feeling comfortable in your own body and ‘listening’ to your clients nervous system.

What others have said about my Teaching

Kristin Sloan is an incredible instructor that brings what might ordinarily be a rather “dry” topic to life.  Her obvious passion and depth of knowledge in this field is palpable. Within 5 minutes I knew that this was going to be a good class.  The topic unfolded smoothly in Kristin’s capable hands and I learned that the lymphatic system was important to the health of my body and something that I could positively affect with the skills Kristin taught us.  Not only does Kristin bring her considerable expertise to the class, but her teaching style engages her students from start to finish with clear, relevant details delivered with joy, humor and centered in real-life application".

First of all, it’s so clear how truly knowledgeable you are, it’s honestly so impressive. And the best part is that the way you teach is so freaking enjoyable, I mean that and I really liked how you gave us the science behind everything.

-Fran

Taking Kristins classes has helped the complicated pieces of MLD click for me.

She created a fun learning environment that was easy for me to learn and understand. As well explaining proper form to the technique so that i can achieve the best results

Some Helpful Hints:

Class will take place within the Reiki and Wellness Center of Manahawkin located at 1156 Beacon Ave on dates provided (always 2 consecutive dates). The center offers parking directly out front of the building as well as street parking. Please feel free to bring water, snacks, and lunch as well as whatever you may need to stay comfy. I strive to make a save, productive environment for all attendees at all times.

I should have enough massage tables so you won't have too bring your own, however I do ask that you bring a set of sheets as we WILL be working on each other so prepare to give and receive work from both other students as well as myself.

You will be receiving a link to the ONLINE anatomy portion of class. Please watch it prior to class that way we can send the majority of our time learning the hands on practice.

Please arrive around a few minutes prior to class to get situated and set up. We have A LOT to cover and will be starting on time at 9am. There will be a 40 minute break for lunch both days and will finish for the day by 4:30 (I will be in the classroom until 5 both days incase you need any assistance, have questions, or need clarification on anything).

Bring an open mind and get ready to have fun. Can't wait to see you there.

FAQ?

Q: What is the cost of the class and your refund policy?

A: Class is $415 and includes a take home manual, routine recipes, and a two hour online anatomy portion to access for one year after the live class date.

Refunds will be available to any student who needs to withdraw from the workshop for any reason, minus a $40 cancellation fee. This fee increases to $100 for cancelling within 2 weeks of class, and to $150 for cancelling within 1 week. Any cancellation fee can apply as a discount toward attending a future class that is within two years of the original workshop date.

A no-show without prior notice will result in forfeiting the entire class fee of $385.

If you’re feeling sick prior to the class, please cancel for our mutual wellness, and use the discount to join us when you’re feeling better!

In the unlikely event that the class must be cancelled entirely, you will receive a full refund for class fees, and you agree not to hold me responsible for any other expenses.

Q: How many CE will I receive?

A: This class is NCBTMB approved for 16 ‘live’ CEs (accepted in New Jersey for renewal).

Q: Will I be able to practice with pre and post op clients right out of class?

A: I specifically created this class as a cost effective way to learn and integrate MLD as soon as class is done, with a focus on getting really comfortable with surgical patients.

Q: Is this a certification course?

A: This course is intended to give you all the knowledge (and more) to feel competent in working the entire lymphatic system with results. The current crediting agency for certification is the Lymph Association of North America (LANA) which requires 135 hours or training. This class is the perfect ‘try it on for size’ before making a huge monetary and time investment in becoming a complete lymphedema therapist. This class offers a certificate of completion to allow you to practice this work wherever NCBTMB is approved (including NJ, NY, and PA). IF you choose to go full certification route there is only one choice of schools in my opinion: The Vodder School.

Q: Do I need to be certified in Manual Lymphatic Drainage to use it in my massage sessions?

A: No. As a licensed Massage Therapist, you are already allowed to use manual lymphatic techniques within your scope of practice. What’s important is that you have proper training to apply them safely and effectively. This 16-hour CE course is designed specifically for LMTs who want to confidently integrate lymphatic drainage into their work without needing a separate certification.

Q: What materials are provided for class?

A: You will have access to the anatomy and physiology portion for up to 1 year after purchase, a take home manual with routines, and direct access to me for any questions you may have.

Q: Who can attend this class?

A: Massage therapists with a valid state license, estheticians, and registered nurses are all welcome to attend. You are required have a valid ‘license to touch’. You agree to have the required prerequisites upon taking this class.

This is a NEURODIVERGENT friendly class! I use multiple teaching skills in order for an array of students to learn.

A note from Kristin: I specifically create a learning environment conducive to all students rooted in mutual respect. In this profession we elevate ourselves to elevate the entire industry. Rude, disrespectful, hurtful behavior is NOT allowed in my classroom and is grounds for immediate dismissal.
